Can I Be Sedated During the Procedure?

At Matthews Smiles, we offer various types of sedation for this procedure, including nitrous oxide or laughing gas, conscious sedation, and IV sedation. We also offer local and general anesthetic. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss the severity of your extraction and explain your sedation options so you can make an informed decision and choose the best plan for you.

After the procedure, over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen should relieve any pain or discomfort you may feel. If you’re worried you’re experiencing an unusual amount of pain, then give us a call before your follow-up appointment.
